Are we meeting in the general vicinity of Nan'tastic? Or elsewhere along the boardwalk?

Last year the check-in table was near the compass rose. You get your supplies there and then wander off picking up trash. Last year I found a homeless camp just on the other side of the condos.

I think sweetj should stand with his hand on Nan'tasitc so we don't pick it up by mistake.

The compass rose area is also the area for the raffle, entertainment, and BBQ lunch.

I really wish I could be there. I can still bring the Clan if it will help.

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to forward on the stats from this year’s event:

Halverson (66 volunteers): 1080 lbs.
Boardwalk (63 volunteers): 520 lbs.
Elk River (68 volunteers): 2040 lbs.
Palco (53 volunteers): 6540 [plus approximately 480 lbs of scrap metal from dismantled shopping carts (a potential source of metal contamination) and 360 lbs of wood pallets]

_____________________________

Total (250 volunteers): 10,180 lbs of trash (not including scrap metal and pallets) or 4.5 tons.

As in previous years, this year’s event surpassed not only the number of volunteers participating, but also the amount of litter removed. Having such a good turnout from volunteers and organizations like yours really demonstrates the City’s commitment to environmental stewardship. I appreciate all of your help in making this year’s event so successful.

Sincerely,

Miles Slattery
