February 29 marks a significant day for many cachers attempting to complete the requirements for the Days of the Year Challenge. In fact, special events are scheduled on that day to "celebrate" and guarantee a smiley, including some in: Santa Rosa, Monterey, Coos Bay, and right here at the Bayshore Mall.

How about you? Do you need February 29 for your calendar? How close are you to completing this challenge?

By the way, according to the Mayan calendar, this is your last year to geocaching anyway.

Hmm, I didn't go to an Ivy League college. Maybe I need one of those Martian calendars.

While at the Lil Ale Inn I spent some time with Paul and he seemed to think the Martian Calendar was off-base.

As he touched my forehead I began to understand.

The marmite was a bit much, however.

I just found out about an equivalent challenge cache in Lake County: Calendar Challenge - 366 Days.

And of course there's also one in Oregon: Days of the Year Challenge Oregon.

I wonder how many others there are.

There's also the Leap Year Length Consecutive Day Challenge Cache near Castro Valley, but that would be crazy.

You forgot: I'm not doing the challenge but I'm going to find a cache on the 29th just in case I change my mind.
