Hey everyone! I'm the Lost Coast Ninja. In mid-November, I started seeking caches, and since them it's been a non-stop hobby: every trip to another part of town ends up with another find under my belt. smile A few weeks after beginning the game, I started hiding caches in and around my current home town of Fields Landing, and also in Eureka proper. Here's a list:
Whalers Dry Dock GC38377
Bayside Hide-Out GC38HAK
Bayside Hide-out Extreme GC38XJC
All Zipped Up GC38T2H
Hoagie Hijinks GC387CE

Also, I recently adopted TFJ's "Got Change/ T-1800" series of caches around the Bayshore Mall, and also The Landing TB motel in Fields Landing. All of the Bayshore-area sites have been updated with Rite in the Rain, and the TB motel will soon be one of 4 new ammo cans I picked up today wink

Hope to meet some of y'all soon.

The Ninja of the Lost Coast

Some quick tips for caching supplies:

Picky Picky Surplus- Ammo cans/Decons/First Aids/ Any other type of container you could want except micro, Dry packs, Hiking gear, assorted surplus items, Rain gear, etc.

Adventures Edge- Rite in the Rain paper, Hiking/outdoor supply

CVS/Wallgreens- micro Caches, plus Michaels next door has magnets, hot glue, paint, and velcro

Ace/ Piersons- Caching hardware, supplies for custom containers.

I'll be at one of your caches tomorrow...after I pick up a tree climber. laugh

edit: You mentioned Picky Picky Surplus. Just don't buy the ammo can with a logbook inside. lol2

Also, I'll put it out there that I have 3 more ammo cans to hide, so if someone has a great spot PM me and we can take a day to place a cache or two. I'm already thinking Samoa Rec area could use another ammo can hide...

How big does a cache have to be to be considered large? they sold some pretty big pelican cases/ammo cans at the surplus shop I was at earlier...

edit: The cache was the first one I picked up- I was like, "Whoa, I don't even need to order a sticker for this one!" hahaha

According to that, I have one can that should become the closest "large" cache to the Humboldt Bay. wink

Not sure on the exact size, it's a 800- 5.56mm size can, about twice the size of a .30 cal box. the others I have are 2 .30's and a .50.

Edit: the big ammo can is a S.A.W. ammo can, volume is approximately 11 liters. Measures 7x8x12"

Well then,

The Landing-TB hotel has undergone renovations and is now a .30 cal ammo can hide... watch out for the Hotel Security (Stinging Nettles!)

New Cache today!! GC39H62 Stinky Pier (HXC-2)

I found the spot yesterday on a romantic evening with my girlfriend...what a cool little spot. Have fun, and there is NO reason to go off or hang over the edge of the pier, folks!
