"The GPSMAP 60 series has been one of our most popular product lines, and the new GPSMAP 62 series improves the form and functionality to make a best-in-class device even better,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of worldwide sales. “Whether you’ve been using Garmin for years or are buying your first handheld, GPSMAP 62 is ideal as it combines our new breakthroughs in outdoor recreation technology with the comfortable feel of an old favorite.”

I have had my GPSMAP 62st for a few weeks now, gave it a good workout last weekend and I am lovin' it. The screen is brighter than the Oregon but still not as bright as the eTrex vista HCx but it is very easy to read in the sunlight walking around. Ram will have a motorcycle mount for it by the end of the year, also Zagg did not have screens for it yet but I found a company called PROTECH and they were selling them on ebay but not through their website yet. Zagg was charging 14.99 plus a few bucks more for shipping for a screen for the GPSMAP60.PROTECH charged me 9.99 with free shipping, the ebay seller Member id is: invisible_protection. I have installed close to 10 Zagg screens and these were the same, I even used the Zagg spray to install it and it came out great.
The Oregon worked great in the truck and I liked the big screen but for me the buttons are the ticket, no more swipe, swipe, swipe to get where I want to go.

Garmin has software updates for the 62 and the Oregon and it added muti-caching support, looks like the missing piece that I have been bitchin' about since I bought the Oregon.
Ver 3.80 for the Oregon
Ver 2.50 for the 62
