My Colorado 400t ate batteries like crazy - but then I switched to rechargeable NiMh's and they've lasted much longer.
My mom has the same unit and someone from Garmin told her that Lithiums were the best for GPS's. She's been using them and they last for what seems like forever (and she uses her backlight all the time!) smile

That's one of the reasons I went with the Colorado - the Oregon touch screen worried me; I'm a tech-klutz at times smirk (and there was a great rebate on the Colorado when I bought it, that helped seal the deal.)

I always have two spare lithiums in my pocket for the 400T. Three times so far coins in that pocket have come together in just the right pattern...

I keep meaning to find something to put the batteries in.

I like lightly tapping the screen on the oregon to brighten the screen.very quick.Thats the only other drawback to the oregon, a dim screen.Havent tried out all the features though.
