Nylimb always tells me that "it's not about the numbers." grin grin

Actually I've been changing the signature every day or so, so the stats will return every so often.

Congrats Patsu! AND your at my personal milestone for hides! smile

Ill be at 500 soon! Probably take me 3 years to get it, but some day it'll be the cool thing to have low numbers! LOL

I like the stat bar as it gives quick and easy access to your account (even though my profile is outdated- YIKES!)

Why don't you make Boardwalk #700? Oh, wait. You have to leave in a month. Not enough time. laugh laugh

(I haven't found it either.) frown But here's a hint:

I found 72 caches while I was in town for two weeks. But not all of it was spent caching. I missed a few day. Being sick and spending time with family.

Yeah, bthomas's stats are impressive. But his friend Alamogul (formerly known as "Team Alamo", and before that "vdbalamo") is currently at 32,218.

Nabbed # 1,300 to-day while out with Patsu. # 1,300 was a sweetj cache ( No Name Falls ) just west of Salyer, which brings my sweetj number up to 64. Sixty plus sweetj caches puts an individual pretty faaaaaarrrrrr to the right of crazy. But I am in good company.

The girls and I went to Mammoth this past week to see a friend, take in the sites in the most beautiful place on earth, and just relax. If you have never been, think about it you won't regret it! Of course the trusty rusty GPSr went with me. with over 100 caches in a 20 mile radius, there is plenty to do and almost all are in incredibly wonderful places. My favorite was "top of the world" at 11053 feet. I don't know if I have ever seen a view to match. not to mention a July snowball fight! I am pretty sure that this may be the highest cache I will ever find. During this trip I also logged #150 at Mono Vista one of the most incredible highway vista points in the world with Mono Lake and the high desert stretching out 1000 feet below. Life is great!!!!!!!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh the good old days. I remember trying " Let Me Draw You A Map " and " Shifting Sands " with map and compass because my old clunker Gps'r was so limited ... Got within 15 feet of the former and 6 feet of the latter. Those Were The Days ... Gee our old LaSalle ran great.

Patsu had a one day best yesterday 41 caches between 11:00 & 2100!!!!

At one point we were bypassing caches because the urban Cachemobile was running like a proverbial scalded cat. Just under Mach 1 if I read the Mach meter correctly. Imagine this : the right seater says; "cache coming up" after quickly changing GPS'r modes the next comment was "hmmmmmm never mind, it is now behind us".

Somewhere during our Cache-Run to Coos Patsu crossed over 900 finds and I crossed over 1,500. Pat in in the midst of logging 89 caches during the 2 day jaunt. He set a one day best of 42 on 10/05/09. As for me, I will start logging to-morrow.

Actually that's GC1FZN9.

Congrats, humspuds! (And thanks for hiding 3 of the caches that I've used to inch toward my goal of finding a cache on every day of the year.)

Congratulations, Jasper! And thanks, all, for the good wishes on our 100th. We have to give props to the MuggleNoMore team for their hilarious logs on High Anxiety (GC1YNW7), inspiring us to go beyond our usual "TFTC" for our modest milestone. Happy caching!

You did a great job on the log, humspuds! Just so you know, it took me about 3-4 hours to write the log for High Anxiety! I would work at dinner, wrote a line or two, change a diaper, wash my hands, rewrite one line and add two more. It was quite a process...I loved every minuet of that cache and ever moment of writing the log!

Well, Just getting around to logging caches from a weekend on the road with Asaxist. I Logged # 1600 in Mt. Shasta City 11/14/09. But cache # 1603, GC1NCF7 in Weed, California still cracks me up.

Wow, by the 4th? If I could cache all day every day I might be able to make that.

Let see, if I can find 2.7 every day for the next 183 days, that would be do-able. But I have to work, so if I were to cache only on Friday's (day off) then I need to find 19 each of the next 26 Fridays. If my family would let me cache on every day off, Friday through Sunday then in those 78 days I need only 6.4 finds each day. If that were actually something my family would let me do (they won't), where would I be able to find them nearby? At last estimate there are only 200ish caches left for me in Humboldt. I'm not sure how many of those I've tried multiple times and DNFed (not logged though). That number also includes all the puzzle caches that I can not solve .

I do know that I've got another 41 (including temporarily archived) SweetJ tortures left to find!

We need more new cache hides folks!

But GSAK doesn't think I can get the next 500 until 1-2011

I've been trying to get to that site (coinsandpins.com) for two weeks now and it's been pooched the entire time. What a crappy time to go down for maintenance! I'd have spent a lot on solstice gifts.

Here's the answer from Aaron at CoinsAndPins:

“The server crashed where CoinsAndPins.com is located. The crash affected all websites located on that server. We were told we would be a priority to get fixed, but there are other people using the server that also want to be a priority. At this time we do not know when it will be back on line.

If you need activation codes for your coins, please contact me through my “CoinsAndPins” profile. Ensure you include the name of the coin and the tracking number. Also ensure you do not hide your email address or we cannot reply back.

Thank you for your patience.”

News from Denmark
:
Quote:
Yesterday (28. december 2009) the danish geocachers Picht and Elmbaek found a record breaking 480 caches in 20 hours. 251 in Denmark and the rest in Sweden. 2 hours transport between the found places included in the 20 hours.

… and here is one of the logs from that day:

Fundet sammen med Picht. Vi tog til Nordsjællands Powertrail for at tage en bid af denne. Men da vi efter 7 timer havde fundet samtlige 250 cacher besluttede vi at fortsætte dagen i Halmstad.
Fundet som nummer 384 af dagens 480 cacher!
Tak MercedesBenz for cachen.
Elmbaek. #8035

These are the same guys, Team DK08, that set the record in Sacramento a couple of years ago.

Second half of second quote translation....
Found with Picht. We went to North Sealand Power Trail to take a bite out of this. But as 7 hours after we had taken all 250 caches, we decided to continue day in Halmstad.
Found at number 384, day 480 caches!
Thank you Mercedes Benz for the cache.

Although a truly an impressive feat, I wonder how they fund their lives. I'm just a poor student who can't travel the world just to find caches. One must also wonder of the density of caches to find so many in such a short length of time. If we lived a more densely populated area, we too would have thousands of finds, wouldn't you think?

Indeed, however, I think we have quality caches and they may have greater significance to us than 10,000 of something else. Those grand sweeping vistas, ocean overlooks and they warm fuzzy feeling one gets after nabbing a sweetj or tfj cache. Then of course there is the sense of accomplishment after th 2 month 19 hours I spent in the Manilla Dunes on Draw you a map and shifting sands. PRICELESS

Update: Elverhøj, Camfrea and Mafrea found 504 caches in 24 hours on a Swedish power trail run. Read their January 2 logs for the Halmstad PowerTrail "HPT A02".

100 FTF's as of today. TRI 463 - GC23G5K.
I only have 32 sweetj caches to go, but I'm guessing he will stay ahead of me.

Well, I was just making up a new stats page for my GC profile and have found that, Cheryl has some finds still signed in my name. Cheryl and I shared an account when we first started caching. That means I still have a little ways to go to get my 300th. Oh well, sorry to have unintentionally lied. When I reach 300 it will be for real!

Do we have to give you gifts again when you reach 300? poke If so, I'll make some Praline Brookies for you.

# 2300 this morning @ GC26H6W which is a commemorative site for 09/11/01. Complete with a chunk of steel beam from GZ. This is the second of such sites I have visited. This morning the sky was a piercing cobalt blue with the giant yellow orb warming the area nicely. Light and variable breezes. Not unlike that day just a few short years ago.

Yep, you did....After I "Thought" I had found my 300th I requested my sister to log her finds on our account in her name. Little did I know that would take 30 finds off my total! So, I didn't mean to be a liar but I suppose I am. I still have 22 to go for a true 300.
