Trying to go totally computerless, and paperless while geocaching. I'm using the Geo app for iphone but the querries seem to take an awful ling time to dl, even on a 3 g.

Any thoughts?

That is the blasted truth not to mention frustrating. Another recent event is having the app go south when trying to boot it.

Perhaps the most frustrating part for me is while standing in a cache rich / signal rich and the blasted thing says no caches ... no network availble. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Point being ... nothing like having a dedicated GPS'r along ( as in my case ) the primary unit. iPhone just rides along as another option.

Well, I think I figured out my dilemma. The trick is to untick the box at the end of the Q where it says to "add filename..." and then the Q downloads nicely.

As far as the "no network" just wait a few, or reboot the phone, and that seemed to have solved the trick for me. A workaround is the downloading of the maps with caches to the phone, then you don't even need the connection.

Yes, the compass may have you off at times, but at other, I got pretty close. then the geosenses have to kick in. This is not a game without surprises, that's what makes it fun... I always have my Delorme in the truck as a backup...

Hey Crimona,

Are you going to be up this way for the Meet & Greet??

If so would you like to lead a break out group on iPhone features??
