This request I made to hail for everyone's possible contribution/involvement to try to better this screwed up world we live in. I am by no means rich, but every day I try to find modalities of helping others that are less fortunate. I have already seen first-hand the conditions at the military hospitals, and the way the VA is "helping" the thousands of troops that have lost limbs, or been disfigured by burns. I cannot help every single one of those in need, but if I can make a difference in the lives of just a few, I feel fulfilled. Since we don't have kids, I also volunteer in "Big Brother" type programs. I have noticed that in the new Tekkie generation, an older hand-held GPS does not hold as high as a new phone on the scale of possessions. Soon after, it ends up in the drawer gathering dust again... But I am certain a veteran soldier would not only appreciate it exceedingly more, but put it to good use for a long time. Since my post, I have already prepared my second GPS gift to a veteran soldier. I KNOW these GPSs will serve a better purpose than sitting in a drawer gathering dust... (...and I'm off my soap box!)
