we have found 32!!!

I just counted, as we were discussing this the other day--we've found 48! That's nearly half of his caches! (More than half if you discount the archived ones that we didn't find/look for.) Daddy B and I discussed making a mini-challenge for ourselves to get them all....but I don't see it happening anytime too soon!

Only 17 for me, he doesn't have very many in Fortuna, and my range is limited. I believe I am the low man on the totem pole! I really don't mind. Just think of all the sweetj's I have't found yet! So many possibilities.

Just for clarification...did you notice the insanity before or after the sweetj caches.

I think if we're all looking for high numbers on this, just ask yourselves who has the most SweetJ DNF's. Then we know who the real sick and twisted cachers are.

I can't really remember a time before sweetj caches. I know it wasn't very long ago, but all the frustration and anxiety that they've caused has aged me prematurely, and my memory was the first thing to go.

Oh well, at least I can remember that I found another one today.

If I've counted right, I've posted DNFs (sometimes more than one) on 21 of his caches. I eventually found 4 of those, I was with Hidegoseek when he found 3 of them, 4 were archived before I got a chance to look again, and 10 are still on my to-do list.



Anyone who takes the time to count his DNFs and sort them into categories probably qualifies...

I am in need of a mental health professional now have 59 sweetj caches. I am seeing little green men in their clean white coats coming to take me away. Hmmmmmm time to evolve a sweetj scoring system which at a glance will indicate how close to insanity one is.

Okay, here it is: Anything over 50 means you're crazy.

I think there should be a deduction for FTFs. After all, you'd be crazy not to try for a FTF. So, let's say if your number of sweetj finds minus 5 times your number of sweetj FTFs is over 50, then you're crazy.

For example, I now have 81 sweetj finds; I think 11 are FTFs. 81-5*11=26, so I'm still sane.

Now that's just crazy.
After all, everyone knows that FTFs and benchmarks don't count for anything.

Hmmm, I think the deliberate act of trying for a FTF on a sweetj cache implies the deeper pathology.

I'm sorry to hear that, especially since it turns out that I have 13 sweetj FTFs, not 11.

Okay, now I'm up to 88 91 sweetj finds. And yet I continue to search.

I dont know why I planned my day this way, but I planned on three sweetj caches in an hour and a half. Luckily they were the king salmon caches and were fairly easy to find. I still think that we should have a vote that would require every laugh sweetj makes regarding caching to start with a "mwahahahahah" and be in a Dr. Claw (the villain from inspector gadget)voice.

so, the real question is how far into the middle of NOWHERE would you put it! cause i think i hold the LCCF record, with 5 (10 round trip) miles of NOTHING!

There is a cache (not mine) up the headwaters i think is a 10 mi round trip.....or there is mine on top of Kings peak.......only 3 miles one way but there is a 200ft eleveation gain....but who's keeping track???

I think he meant 2000' of elevation gain for the King's Peak cache--great views from up there, but quite a hike. The cache at the top of Headwaters is Ol' Growth, I think, and on my list of must-do caches. And there's the Lost Man Creek cache, which is 11-12 miles round trip, and pretty steep most of the way. One of my other personal favorites for out of the way caches is the Footsteps Rocks cache up by False Klamath Cove--only a few miles, but you've gotta watch your step pretty much every step of the way.

I'm not sure just how many sweetj caches I've done, and I guess I'm a little scared to count, though I'm sure I'm still in the minor leagues on that count. I tend to do the wilderness caches more often than the evil urban nanos, and out in the woods I've even seen a few sweetj caches that were easy finds(!).

We're up to 90 sweetj caches--I got curious enough to count them tonight!

Since it is a milestone cache, I would suggest that it should have some significance. You are the judge of that significance. Given that you asked it on the Sweetj thread I might suggest CHP 2 or any of Jason's other mischief makers.

Make it a FTF!! Like maybe CHP 8.

cant do that one, looked at it for an hour in PE and tried online. I want something out of the way, and really cool containers, or hard

You're not alone. I thought the hint might mean it's a Vigenere cipher, so I spent a few hours writing a program to solve those. It does quite well on test cases, and has given me the coords of a few distant puzzle caches, but it fails completely on CHP 8. So either the code isn't a Vigenere cipher, or the letter distribution in the plaintext is quite different from normal English, or the keyword is too long for frequency analysis to work.

I tried some other possibilities, but so far nothing has worked.
